OnePlus has unveiled its latest gaming-focused phones, the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro. Both devices feature built-in cooling fans to keep their powerful chipsets in check during extended gaming sessions. The standard Ace 7 is widely expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus 16R in international markets.
The Ace 7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options start at 256GB and go up to 1TB, which is a strong fit for users with large game libraries.
Its 6.78-inch LTPO display can reach 185Hz in select supported games, while everyday scrolling and standard apps are capped at 165Hz. The panel supports a wide refresh rate range from 1Hz to 165Hz for better power efficiency.
On the camera side, the Ace 7 Pro includes a 200MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The front-facing camera is 16MP. An ultrawide camera is absent, likely to free up internal space for the cooling fan.
The fan uses a dual-airflow system with two intakes and two exhaust grilles. In an unusual design choice, the vents are placed on the raised camera island rather than the side frame, a difference from gaming phones like RedMagic.
The Ace 7 Pro carries a 9,000mAh battery and supports 100W SuperVOOC charging. Both phones feature Crystal Shield Glass on the front, glass-fiber reinforced plastic on the back, and a metal-clad middle frame. Despite the cooling fan, the series is rated IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
The Ace 7 Pro comes in black, white, and light blue. Pricing starts at CNY 4,799, approximately $715, for the 12GB/256GB model.
The standard Ace 7 is largely the same device with a few downgrades. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset, which keeps the same CPU but splits the GPU into two slices with less dedicated memory, reducing overall graphics performance. The telephoto camera is replaced by an 8MP ultrawide camera, and the cooling fan has a single-direction airflow.
Those changes bring the starting price down to CNY 4,399, around $655, for the 12GB/256GB variant. Color options include black, white, and a gradient finish that shifts from gray to gold.
