Strava Adds Google Gemini Integration for Personalized Training Insights

Source: Date:

Strava is expanding its AI-powered fitness analysis options. After introducing a Model Context Protocol connector for Claude in June, the platform now offers direct integration with Google Gemini, giving subscribers a new way to explore their training data.

With this optional connection, Gemini can draw on a subscriber's Strava activity history to provide richer, more contextual answers. For example, the assistant can assess whether a runner is improving at the same heart rate, explain how strength training may be influencing performance, or deliver a detailed breakdown of a recent race.

Gemini can also compare a user's fastest 10K this year to their all-time personal best, identify the longest running streak on their Strava profile, and evaluate whether weather conditions played a role in their results.

Strava emphasizes that connecting to Gemini is entirely optional and read-only. Subscribers can choose to connect and disconnect at any time. The integration is available to Strava users on all Gemini plans, though it is currently limited to the United States.

To connect, open Google Gemini, go to Personal Intelligence, select Strava under connected apps, sign in with Strava credentials, and authorize the connection.
