Redmi Clip Neo Buds Debut as a More Affordable Rival to the Xiaomi Clip-on

Redmi has introduced a new pair of clip-on earbuds, the Redmi Clip Neo, arriving at half the price of Xiaomi’s original Clip-on buds. Presented alongside the Redmi K100, the Clip Neo aims to bring open-ear convenience, a lightweight build, longer battery life and physical controls to a lower price bracket.

The Xiaomi Clip-on first appeared in May, and the Clip Neo follows the same clip-on earbud concept. Instead of relying on friction inside the ear canal, the buds hook around the ear. Redmi uses a 0.6mm flexible memory titanium wire for springiness, with the company saying the material has survived 25,000 bending tests. Skin-friendly silicone is used on the contact areas to help maintain comfort during longer wear, while each bud weighs just 5.3g.

Audio hardware is handled by 12mm drivers with a dual-magnetic design, which Redmi claims increases volume by 40%. The diaphragm features a diamond coating for faster transient response. There are also two microphones for AI-powered call noise reduction, although the article notes this does not apply to music or video audio. Users can adjust a built-in 10-band equalizer, with custom settings and four presets available.

Battery life is another highlight. The buds can last up to 7 hours on a single charge, and the charging case extends total listening time to 32 hours. They also support multi-point connectivity and offer a fast connection when the case is opened.

Unlike many modern earbuds, the Redmi Clip Neo includes a physical button on each bud. One press controls playback, two presses skip to the next track, three presses go to the previous track, and a long press can summon an AI assistant. Redmi also notes that the AI assistant function works with iPhones, not only Android devices.

Redmi Clip Neo is available in Zero Black and Pearl White

The Redmi Clip Neo is currently available in China through Xiaomi’s online store. It is priced at CNY 400, roughly equivalent to $60 / €54 / ₹5,700. There is also a limited-edition CryingCenter collaboration version priced at CNY 450, which adds a branded carrying pouch, a sticker set and custom gift box packaging.

For comparison, the Xiaomi Clip-on launched at CNY 800, making the Redmi Clip Neo the more affordable option in this clip-on style.
