The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is set to debut with some notable advancements, yet it appears that the aesthetic design of its display will remain largely the same as its predecessor, the S26 Ultra. Renowned tipster Ice Universe has revealed insights into the S27 Ultra's screen protectors, suggesting they are almost identical to those of the S26 Ultra, potentially even interchangeable.
According to Ice Universe, "this may be the smallest change in front display design between two consecutive Ultra flagships in Samsung’s history." While the front might look familiar, the S27 Ultra will boast a next-generation M16 OLED display, promising impressive features. This technology, which first debuted with the iQOO 16, offers remarkable peak brightness levels—10,000 nits peak local brightness and 2,800 nits peak global brightness. Furthermore, the M16 display will enhance power efficiency, consuming up to 30% less energy, along with improved color accuracy.
In addition to the upgraded display, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will include a brand new selfie camera that shifts from the current 12MP module to a 16MP camera, a rumor confirmed by reports from last month.
The screen size will remain consistent at 6.9 inches with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels, maintaining continuity from previous models. The Privacy Display feature will continue to be part of the package, and it's expected that the bezels around the display will stay unchanged as well.
Speculations hint that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will closely resemble the S26 Ultra regarding size. However, it will incorporate a larger battery, a difference attributed to advancements in energy density, leading to a slight increase in weight from 214g to 215g. It appears Samsung is strategically prioritizing a revamp of the camera island on the back of the device while retaining most of the existing design elements.
