After much anticipation and speculation, vivo has officially announced the global release of the X Fold6, just three months following its successful launch in China. This innovative foldable smartphone showcases cutting-edge technology and features designed to enhance user experience, solidifying its place in the competitive global market.
The X Fold6 features an impressive 8.02-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 2312x2504 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an astounding peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Additionally, it comes with a 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display that has a resolution of 1120x2528 pixels, along with a similar 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset, users can choose between 12GB or 16GB of RAM, along with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.
On the camera front, the X Fold6 is equipped with an impressive 200MP main camera featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, alongside two 20MP selfie cameras – one on the inner display and another on the cover. The device is powered by a robust 6,900 mAh battery with the capability of 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, and is rated IP58 and IP59 for dust and water resistance.
Internationally, the X Fold6 will run on OriginOS 7 Fold, based on Android 17, introducing features like the Multi-Task Workbench, which is designed for enhanced multitasking with one main window and up to four auxiliary windows. The Multi-Split Screen option allows users to work across four resizable windows simultaneously, while AI Cross-App Drag enables seamless content transfer between applications.
Additional features include the AI Meeting Assistant, complete with AI Recorder for capturing meeting discussions and AI Captions providing real-time subtitles for online interactions. The AI File Manager streamlines organization, and the AI Reader Mode reformats PDFs into user-friendly eBook layouts for easier reading.
The Jovi intelligent AI agent is another highlight of the OriginOS 7 Fold, enhancing productivity by allowing users to execute tasks across smartphones and computers via voice commands. Additionally, the Vivo Office Kit transforms the X Fold6 into a desktop-like environment when connected to an external monitor or TV, thanks to its Desktop Mode.
