Huawei has officially unveiled the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design, a stunning variant of the Mate 90 Pro Max that elevates luxury and performance in a smartphone. This exclusive model pays tribute to Huawei's Ultimate Design heritage while introducing an eye-catching aesthetic that stands out in the market. With enhanced storage options and premium features, the Mate 90 RS is poised to impress tech enthusiasts and photography lovers alike.
The Mate 90 RS features a unique supercar-inspired back, available in striking colors including Crimson, Pure White, and Jet Black. Its distinctive octagonal camera island, characterized by a raised center panel, not only adds to its stylish appearance but also houses impressive camera capabilities. It shares the same advanced camera hardware as the Mate 90 Pro Max, which includes a 50MP main RYYB sensor (1/1.28-inch) with a versatile f/1.4 - 4.0 aperture, a powerful 200MP periscope lens (1/1.28-inch) with 4x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultrawide camera.
In addition to its stellar camera capabilities, the Mate 90 RS is compatible with Huawei’s Ruiying Z10 external camera module, featuring a 50MP 1” RYYB sensor and a focal range of 24-240mm. This feature is also available on the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector's Edition, making the RS variant an excellent choice for serious photographers. However, it's worth noting that the Z10 module is sold separately at a price of CNY 5,999 ($895).
While the Mate 90 RS and Mate 90 Pro Max are built on the same robust specifications, including the Kirin 9500 Pro chip, a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display, and a substantial 6,800 mAh battery, the RS model offers enhanced configurability. It supports storage options up to an impressive 2TB, compared to the Pro Max's maximum of 1TB, making it a perfect choice for users with extensive storage needs. Additionally, the RS variant comes equipped with IP69 ingress protection and satellite connectivity for added durability and functionality.
