A recent leak from China has provided intriguing insights into Apple's forthcoming A20 Pro chip, anticipated to power the iPhone 18 Pro series and iPhone Ultra. Through meticulous reverse-engineering of solder diagrams, the leaker has unearthed significant details regarding the chip's architecture and capabilities.

According to the leak, the A20 Pro will retain a 2+4 CPU configuration but will introduce an upgraded 7-core GPU. The chip's “small” power-efficient CPU cores are set to feature an increased L2 cache of 8MB, compared to the 6MB found in the A19 Pro. The “big” performance cores will maintain their allocation of 16MB of L2 cache. Details regarding the system cache for the A20 Pro are yet to be disclosed.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra models on September 9, at which point we can anticipate a comprehensive overview of the new flagship chip's features.
