Vivo to Launch OriginOS 7.0 with Android 17 Features on September 16
Vivo is set to take a significant step in the realm of mobile software by unveiling OriginOS 7.0, its latest operating system based on Android 17. The announcement is expected to occur during the upcoming Vivo Dev Conference (VDC) on September 16. In addition to the new OS, Vivo will also reveal BlueOS 4, a cutting-edge platform for smart wearables and IoT devices.
Leading up to the event, Vivo has been actively teasing exciting new features and visual updates for OriginOS 7.0 on Weibo. This update promises a user interface that resembles liquid glass coupled with enhanced animations and lighting effects.
Notably, OriginOS 7.0 will introduce a range of new elements, including:
- Liquid Themes for the lockscreen
- A comprehensive sticker library accessible throughout the system
- Atomic Workbench specifically designed for traditional candybar-style phones
Furthermore, the update is set to enhance memory management and includes an upgraded “unfair scheduling” algorithm aimed at improving multitasking and animation performance.
Vivo is also excited to showcase Storage Compression 2.0, a breakthrough technology designed to reclaim up to 20GB of additional storage space on devices with 256GB of internal storage.
According to Vivo, OriginOS 7.0 will deliver impressive performance metrics, including:
- 14% improvement in graphics rendering
- Up to 12% faster app startup times
- 19% boost in page-switching response speeds
- A 20% reduction in power consumption during UI animations and screen rendering
More details regarding the features, device compatibility, and public availability of OriginOS 7.0 are expected to be unveiled at the conference. Additionally, Vivo is planning to launch its new vivo X500 series later this month.
