Scheduled for reveal on September 16 during the vivo Dev Conference (VDC), this new iteration promises to enhance user experience with its Android 17-based features and interface updates. Alongside OriginOS 7.0, vivo will also introduce BlueOS 4, a groundbreaking platform for smart wearables, IoT devices, and smart home products.
Leading up to the highly awaited event, vivo has been teasing some noteworthy features and design modifications that users can expect from the upcoming OriginOS 7.0 on Weibo.
One of the standout elements of this update is a redesigned user interface that mimics the appearance of liquid glass, complete with enhanced animations and dynamic lighting effects. Users will also find new Liquid Themes available for the lockscreen, a comprehensive sticker library accessible throughout the system, and the introduction of Atomic Workbench, catering specifically to traditional candybar-style phones.
OriginOS 7.0 is set to come with improved memory management and a refined “unfair scheduling” algorithm designed to boost multitasking efficiency and animation fluidity.
Additionally, the update will incorporate Storage Compression 2.0 technology, enabling devices with 256GB storage to reclaim up to 20GB of valuable space.
Performance enhancements are a significant focus of OriginOS 7.0, boasting a 14% increase in graphics rendering speed, up to 12% quicker application startup times, and a 19% enhancement in page-switching responsiveness.
The update also aims to reduce power consumption by approximately 20% during UI animations and screen rendering, contributing to longer battery life.
