Redmi 17 5G Launched in India with Impressive Battery Upgrade
Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi 17 5G to the Indian market, featuring a notable upgrade in battery capacity compared to its global version. While most specifications and design elements remain consistent with the international variant, the Indian model stands out due to its enhanced power capabilities.
The Indian version of the Redmi 17 5G boasts a substantial 7,900mAh battery, upgrading from the 7,500mAh battery found in other regions. This powerful battery supports rapid 45W wired charging for quicker top-ups.
Maintaining the core performance, the Redmi 17 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, available with configurations of up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It also includes the flexibility of a microSD card slot for expanded storage options.
The device features a 6.9-inch LCD display, delivering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate along with HD+ resolution, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i for added durability.
In terms of photography, the Redmi 17 5G is equipped with a 50MP main rear camera, complemented by an additional lens. For selfies, it includes an 8MP front-facing camera.
The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, along with connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and GPS capabilities.
The starting price for the Redmi 17 5G is INR 23,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/128GB model is priced at INR 26,999. It will be available in three vibrant colors: Absolute Black, Eternal Orange, and Endless Blue, with sales commencing on September 10.
