Huawei Unveils New Flagship Smartwatches
Huawei has officially launched its highly anticipated Watch 6 series, positioning it as the latest flagship addition to their smartwatch lineup. Accompanying this release are the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro, which are making their debut on the global market after initial unveiling in China. Huawei Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro
The Huawei Watch 6 series comprises two models: the standard Watch 6 and the premium Watch 6 Pro. The Watch 6 is available in 42mm and 46mm size options, while the Watch 6 Pro is offered in sizes of 43mm and 46mm. Notably, the 42mm Watch 6 is lightweight at just 38 grams (without the strap), making it the most portable option.

Huawei distinguishes the two variants based on their construction materials. The standard models feature aluminum alloy and stainless-steel cases, while the 46mm versions of the Pro come with titanium cases. Additionally, the 43mm Ceramic Edition of the Pro and the White model utilize a nano-tech ceramic material for a more luxurious feel.

All models in the Watch 6 series are equipped with LTPO OLED touchscreens safeguarded by artificial sapphire glass. The standard Watch 6 reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, whereas the Watch 6 Pro can achieve 3,500 nits. Four versions of the Watch 6 series are also available with optional eSIM connectivity.
Huawei Watch 6 Pro Ceramic Edition (43mm) and Space Edition (46mm)
A new wrist-flick gesture allows users to instantly mute incoming calls and alarms. The series also features dual-phone connectivity compatible with both iOS and Android devices and gestures for answering calls and capturing photos with a connected smartphone.
With the Health Insights feature, users can track daily health and activity metrics, revealing long-term wellness trends. Metrics include heart rate, SpO2 levels, sleep quality, ECG, HRV tracking, sleep breathing awareness, and more.
The updated X-Tap sensor returns from the Watch 5 series, providing simultaneous measurement for several health metrics, including risk studies for hypertension and diabetes. Huawei claims a 100% increase in sensor sensitivity and an expansion from 4 to 12 measurement channels.
With over 100 sports modes, including specialized settings for skiing, cycling, and golf, the Watch 6 series also features an AI workout analysis for tracking performance and recovery metrics. Watch 6 Pro models gain access to the Expedition app, which was previously exclusive to the Watch Ultimate series, enhancing navigation capabilities and wayfinding.
Battery life for the 42mm and 43mm models averages 3 days of typical use, extendable to 7 days with battery saver mode. The 46mm models provide about 4.5 days of typical usage, with a maximum of up to 11 days when engaging battery saver mode.
Huawei Watch 6 is priced at £399.99, while the Watch 6 Pro retails for £599.99, both becoming available from September 23.

The global versions of the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro mirror the features of the models launched in China previously.
Watch GT 7 (41mm)
The Watch GT 7 series offers 41mm and 46mm model options, while the Pro edition is exclusively available in 46mm. Depending on the variant, users enjoy either a 1.32-inch or 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen boasting a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
Watch GT 7 (46mm)
The standard Watch GT 7 is crafted with a stainless-steel case and fiber composite back, whereas the Pro variant features a titanium alloy case and a nanocrystalline ceramic panel. Enhanced color choices and a refined tuck-under watch strap are also available.
Watch GT 7 Pro
Both the GT 7 models come with optical heart rate sensors and a skin temperature sensor, while the GT 7 Pro is equipped with ECG support. The series improves upon sports tracking features for cycling, skiing, and golf with a more advanced positioning algorithm, particularly benefitting skiing mode.

Battery life is estimated at 7 days on the 41mm Watch GT 7 and extends to a remarkable 12 days for the 46mm models. Under lighter usage conditions, the runtime can reach up to 14 and 21 days, respectively. These larger models are also capable of lasting up to 51 hours in continuous GPS mode for running.
Huawei GT 7 starts at £279.99, while the Watch GT 7 Pro is priced at £379.99. A promotional discount of £50 is available for pre-orders made before October 13.
