In a historic transition for Apple, Tim Cook has officially stepped down as CEO, handing the reins over to John Ternus. Cook, who joined Apple in 1998 and took on the CEO role in 2011 following the resignation of Steve Jobs, leaves behind a legacy of innovation and growth.
The latter models of the iPhone, such as the iPhone 5, 5s, and 5c, were among the last to bear Jobs' influence, as he passed shortly after the unveiling of the iPhone 4s. Under Cook's leadership, Apple has seen tremendous advances in technology and has expanded its product line significantly.
John Ternus, previously Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, steps into the role of CEO. As the head of all hardware engineering, he has overseen the development of critically acclaimed products like the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. His strong background in hardware engineering positions him well for leading Apple into its next phase.

While Apple develops its own operating systems and applications, the company remains fundamentally a hardware-centric organization. Ternus’ expertise aligns with Apple's core focus, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of the technology industry. His contributions include popular products such as AirPods, the iPhone Air, and the MacBook Neo.
Though Cook is stepping down as CEO, he will continue his journey at Apple as the executive chairman. In a heartfelt farewell message, he expressed his gratitude to the Apple community, stating: "Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!"
