The upcoming Honor Magic9 series, slated for release in September, is already generating buzz with the potential launch of its flagship model, the Honor Magic9 Pro. Notably, this new smartphone is rumored to introduce an innovative square selfie sensor, marking a first in the Android smartphone market.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic9 Pro is expected to be equipped with the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset and will feature a distinctive 1:1 square front-facing camera sensor.

The Honor Magic8 Pro previously boasted a remarkable 50MP selfie camera paired with a TOF 3D sensor

On the rear, the Magic9 Pro is rumored to sport an impressive 200MP primary sensor (1/1.28-inch) with an f/1.57 aperture and advanced 3-degree optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, users can expect a robust rear camera setup comprising a 50MP ultrawide camera alongside a 200MP (1/1.4-inch) periscope telephoto sensor.

For videography enthusiasts, the phone may also come equipped with ARRI videography features, similar to those found in the Honor Robot Phone. While previous rumors hinted that the Oppo Find X10 series could showcase a square selfie sensor as well, its launch is believed to be scheduled for October.
