Samsung Rolls Out One UI 9 Beta 6 Update for Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has just unveiled the sixth beta version of its One UI 9 software for the Galaxy S26 series, following the release of the fifth beta a couple of weeks ago. This latest update, with a size of 851MB, includes the security patches dated August 5, 2026, and is currently available for users in Germany, India, Poland, the UK, and Korea, with a rollout to the US expected soon.

Beta participants who install this update will find their devices running build ZZHE. This version addresses several issues, including display errors related to the Now Brief widget and the home screen, certain problems with photo-saving in Expert RAW 24MP at specific focal lengths, and a malfunction with the camera widget.

The update introduces a new feature within the Edge panel settings dubbed "Touch and hold for AI select." Users can enable this toggle to activate the AI select feature by long-pressing the Edge panel peek window. Disabling it will prevent accidental activations while still allowing users to use AI Select as a shortcut within the Edge panel.

AI Select serves as Samsung's enhancement to the Smart Select tool, allowing users to select any portion of their screen to extract editable text, create animated GIFs from videos, or directly take images for Generative Edit and Drawing Assist. This feature aligns closely with Google's Circle to Search functionality.
