In an exciting development for smartphone enthusiasts, Nothing OS 5.0, based on Android 17, is set to debut in open beta on August 26 at 11:00 BST (12:00 CEST, 13:00 EEST, and 15:30 in India). This latest operating system will first be available for the Nothing Phone (3), with additional devices anticipated to join the beta program in the coming months. Users can look forward to a variety of features and improvements, making it a much-anticipated upgrade for existing Nothing device owners.
The rollout schedule is as follows: after the initial release for the Nothing Phone (3), the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro will receive the update in early September, followed by the Phone (4a), Phone (3a), and (3a) Pro in late September. The Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus will receive their updates in mid-October, and the rollout will conclude with the Phone (4b) in mid-December. Notably, the Phone (3a) Lite and CMF Phone 2 Pro will not be part of the open beta program.
The public release of Nothing OS 5.0 will officially launch for the Nothing Phone (3) in mid-October, with subsequent releases for the Nothing Phone (4a), (4a) Pro, (3a), and (3a) Pro in early November. The update will reach the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus in mid-November, the Phone (3a) Lite in late December, and finally, the Phone (4b) and CMF Phone 2 Pro in mid-January of the following year.
