Motorola's Upcoming 2027 Flagship Phones to Feature GrapheneOS Support

Source: Date:

In a significant development for privacy-conscious smartphone users, GrapheneOS, a security-focused version of Android that omits Google services, has announced its collaboration with Motorola to support the upcoming 2027 flagship mobile devices. This partnership allows users to choose between Motorola's standard Android interface or switch to GrapheneOS for enhanced security and privacy once they receive their devices.

According to GrapheneOS developers, the first device to feature this support will likely be a successor to the Motorola Signature, followed by the highly anticipated next-gen Razr Fold and Razr Ultra models. All these devices are set to be powered by flagship Snapdragon chipsets, which are known for superior CPU and GPU capabilities.

The new Motorola devices with GrapheneOS support are expected to "meet or exceed" the official requirements set by GrapheneOS, including a commitment to seven years of substantial updates. Notably, Motorola itself will be actively involved in the process of porting GrapheneOS to its devices.
