Anticipation Builds for the Upcoming Sony Xperia 10 VIII Launch
Excitement is brewing as Sony prepares to unveil its latest smartphone, the Xperia 10 VIII, during their launch event scheduled for August 25 at 11 AM Japan time. While the company has not officially confirmed the name of the product, leaks and rumors suggest that this new addition to the Xperia lineup is indeed the highly anticipated Xperia 10 VIII. Recent sightings on Geekbench and an officially leaked image have given us a sneak peek at what to expect.
The leaked image showcases a design strikingly similar to its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VII, with a dual-camera layout situated within a horizontally arranged camera island, featuring the recognizable Sony logo. Just beneath the camera island, the NFC logo can be spotted, indicating its capabilities.

On the right side of the frame, the volume rocker and power button—which also serves as a fingerprint scanner—are clearly visible. The Xperia 10 VII included a physical camera shutter below the power key, but its presence on the Xperia 10 VIII remains uncertain as it is obscured by a hand in the photo. Further images will shed light on whether Sony has chosen to retain or remove this feature.

Details from Geekbench reveal that the Xperia 10 VIII will operate on Android 16 and is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, the same chipset found in its predecessor. The model tested on Geekbench boasted 8GB of RAM, while it remains unknown if additional RAM configurations will be offered. The previous generation, the Xperia 10 VII, was available solely in an 8GB/128GB variant.
