At the recent IMID 2026 expo held in Busan, South Korea, Samsung showcased a range of impressive display technologies, with the highlight being a groundbreaking 16-inch OLED panel featuring an exceptional 300Hz refresh rate. This pioneering display promises to redefine the gaming experience for enthusiasts.
Next-Gen High Refresh Rate OLEDs
This OLED panel marks a significant achievement in display technology, being the first of its kind to offer such a high refresh rate. Although specific details such as HDR capabilities and peak brightness remain undisclosed, the combination of 2.5K resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio is expected to make this a favorite for premium gaming laptops upon its release.
Moreover, Samsung introduced additional cutting-edge displays including a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel boasting a 4K resolution and a variable refresh rate of 360Hz, as well as a 34-inch ultrawide QD-OLED that maintains the same refresh rate at a 21:9 aspect ratio.
In addition to these, the expo featured a slew of futuristic concepts such as a 6.9-inch Humanoid Display equipped with eye-tracking technology designed for robotic applications, as well as an innovative AI OLED Pendant. While these technologies may still be a vision for the future, the high-refresh-rate OLED displays are expected to make a swift entrance into the market.
