The highly anticipated Tecno Pova 8 Pro has officially made its debut, promising to enhance the mobile gaming experience with its array of groundbreaking features. This smartphone caters to gamers and tech enthusiasts alike, with its powerful hardware, stunning display, and advanced AI capabilities.
Under the hood, the Tecno Pova 8 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. A standout feature is its P1 Graphic Chip, designed to enhance gaming performance, allowing users to experience up to 144FPS gaming through innovative frame interpolation. Tecno highlights that the Pova 8 Pro effectively supports 90FPS in RPGs and superb 144FPS in both FPS and MOBA games.
On the software side, the device runs on HiOS 16, based on Android 16, with a promise of two Android OS upgrades and three years' worth of security patches. Although some users might have wished for Android 17 out of the box, Tecno ensures that the Pova 8 Pro is well-equipped with features such as Tecno AI and a dedicated virtual assistant named Ella, enhancing productivity and photography options.
The Pova 8 Pro showcases a 6.78-inch 144Hz HyperLux AMOLED display, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, featuring an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits, a resolution of 2,644 x 1,208 pixels, and an instant touch sampling rate of 2,800Hz. Notably, the display supports operation even with wet or oily fingers, making it convenient in various environments.
Additionally, the unique Alive Matrix Display located on the back of the device rests inside a triangular camera module, utilizing mini-LED technology for customizability. The smartphone’s design, inspired by interstellar spacecraft, truly sets it apart in terms of aesthetics.
Focusing on the camera capabilities, the Pova 8 Pro is equipped with a 50MP primary camera (LYTIA 700C, OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide camera on the rear, complemented by a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Powering this impressive device is a robust 6,500 mAh battery, which brings a slight reduction compared to its predecessor, the Pova 8, yet maintains the same 45W charging speed. It also supports all-scenario bypass charging and 10W reverse wired charging for added convenience.
Other noteworthy features of the Tecno Pova 8 Pro include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a sophisticated 5,000 mm2 VC cooling system, IR blaster, NFC support, 4D Game Vibration technology, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and high-resolution audio support, making it a feature-packed device. The phone also boasts an IP66/68/69/69K rating for water and dust resistance and includes a One-Tap Button for quick app access.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro will be available in three stunning colors: Arc White, Graphite Black, and Tundra Green, with various memory options including 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.
