Honor Unveils Teaser for Upcoming Magic9 Series Set to Launch in September

Source: Date:

In an exciting reveal during today's Robot Phone keynote, Honor has officially teased its upcoming Magic9 series, which is slated for launch in September. This announcement marks a timely shift, as the launch is a month earlier than the previous year’s Magic8 series, sparking anticipation among technology enthusiasts and smartphone aficionados alike.

Honor Magic9 Camera Module Teaser

The teaser focuses on the intriguing camera module of the Magic9 or Magic9 Pro, showcasing a unique off-center design. Notably, the surrounding ring around the camera sensors exhibits a knurling pattern reminiscent of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. It raises questions about whether this ring will rotate and offer additional camera controls, further enhancing the user experience.

Among the standout features highlighted is a robust 200MP camera equipped with a 1/1.4" sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). This mirrors the impressive capabilities of last year’s Magic8 Pro, which featured a similarly robust 200MP periscope module with an impressive 3.7x optical zoom. Fans are eager to learn if this feature will also be incorporated into the new Magic9 series.

Adding to the excitement is the presence of the Arri logo, a testament to the recently announced strategic partnership between Honor and the esteemed film equipment company. This collaboration promises to elevate the videography aspect of the Magic9 series.

Honor Magic9 Video Features

Honor has assured that the Magic9 series will inherit video capabilities akin to those introduced with the Robot Phone. These advanced features include native Log-C3 video encoding, LUT color grading, and a specialized cinema mode designed to mimic the authentic look and feel of Arri cinema cameras, catering to amateur filmmakers and content creators.
