As excitement builds for the release of the much-anticipated Robot Phone, Honor recently showcased its advanced camera technologies during a special event in China. The company is proud to highlight its collaboration with the renowned German cinema camera manufacturer, Arri, setting the stage for superior photography and videography capabilities.
The Robot Phone is the first product from this unique partnership, introducing groundbreaking features such as native Log-C3 video encoding, on-device LUT color grading, and a dedicated Cinema mode designed to replicate the signature aesthetic of Arri cinema cameras. Honor also disclosed that over 100 patents support these innovations.
At the heart of the Robot Phone is an impressive 200MP main camera equipped with a sophisticated three-axis gimbal. This main camera utilizes a 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.6 aperture, powered by Honor's proprietary image signal processor (ISP), the Yuguang H1.
In conjunction with the new ISP, Honor incorporated a custom gimbal motor that weighs just 2.6 grams, making it 65% smaller than conventional gimbal motors while providing 35% greater torque density.
Additionally, the Robot Phone will feature a 200MP periscope lens and a 50MP ultrawide camera module. Beyond its impressive imaging capabilities, the device is expected to include a 6.3" to 6.4" display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery. Further details about the Robot Phone are anticipated to surface in the days leading up to its launch on August 12.
