Introduction
vivo is set to unveil its latest smartphone, the vivo S2, which promises to deliver an impressive blend of design and performance. With a launch expected in India soon, the company is generating buzz with teasers showcasing a flagship-inspired aesthetic and powerful features aimed at photography enthusiasts and media consumers alike. Here's what we know so far about this exciting new device.
vivo originally introduced the vivo S1 in March 2019, which subsequently hit the Indian market in August. The anticipation for the S2 is building up as rumors suggest a release date of August 6, although this has yet to be officially confirmed. The Indian division of vivo has hinted that the smartphone is "coming soon."
According to a promotional page on vivo's official Indian website, the S2 showcases a design similar to the vivo X300 FE. It's worth noting that while the S2 lacks ZEISS enhancements, it does feature a dual-camera configuration on its rear instead of the X300 FE’s triple-camera setup.
While specific specifications for the S2 have not yet been released, vivo has promised a "flagship-inspired design," robust performance, and exceptional photography and videography capabilities. More details are expected to follow in the coming days.
Rumored features speculate that the vivo S2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, come equipped with 8GB of RAM, and offer storage options of up to 256GB. Additionally, it is said to include a 6.59" 120Hz curved OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a substantial 7,000 mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging.
Other expected specifications include an in-display fingerprint scanner and a dual-camera setup with two 50MP cameras (a primary camera from Sony and a periscope telephoto), as well as a 32MP selfie camera capable of 4K video recording.
