Asus introduced the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro in 2024, subsequently deciding to halt new phone launches. Consequently, the ROG Phone 10 and ROG Phone 10 Pro will likely never be released.
Thanks to leaked firmware, we now have insights into the features we could have anticipated from these models. Both devices would have been equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, boasting 5G connectivity, UFS 4.0 storage, and LPDDR5X RAM. They would also support Wi-Fi 7.
The ROG Phone 10 Pro was expected to feature a 50MP main camera using OmniVision’s OV50Q 1/1.3-inch sensor (the same sensor found in the Xiaomi 17), a 13MP ultrawide camera with the OmniVision OV13B10 sensor, a 32MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom using Samsung’s ISOCELL JD1 sensor, and a 32MP selfie camera utilizing the OmniVision OV32C sensor.
Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 10 would have incorporated a 50MP main camera featuring Sony’s IMX766 sensor, the same ultrawide and selfie cameras as the Pro model, along with a 5MP macro camera.
While both devices would have undoubtedly included various gaming-related features and optimizations, the cancellation of these handsets means we will never experience their true potential.
