After months of speculation and leaks, Samsung has officially launched its latest Galaxy Z foldables, including the new Galaxy Z Flip8, during the Unpacked event in London. The latest clamshell foldable features a powerful new chipset and upgraded software with One UI 9.
Design-wise, the Galaxy Z Flip8 mirrors its predecessor, the Z Flip7, but is now equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for models sold in the US, while other regions will receive the Exynos 2600 chipset.
In terms of display, the specifications are retained from the Galaxy Z Flip7. The new model boasts a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the inside, providing a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and Full-HD+ resolution.
It features a 4.1-inch cover display, which is also AMOLED, and supports a 120Hz refresh rate as well.
For photography enthusiasts, the Galaxy Z Flip8 includes a 50MP main rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), complemented by a 12MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, users will find a 10MP camera located on the internal display.
Powering the device is a 4,300mAh battery, which remains unchanged from the previous model, supporting 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
On the software side, the Galaxy Z Flip8 operates on Android 17 with One UI 9 and introduces new Galaxy AI-powered FlexWindow features, including Now Brief on the cover screen.
For connectivity, the device offers support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC. It also boasts an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 comes in two configurations: 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, available in Cream, Graphite, and Pink color options. Additionally, a Mint variant will be exclusively available through the Samsung online store.
