Apple is making waves in the tech world once again, as recent reports indicate that the company is set to unveil its innovative leasing program called Apple Upgrade next week, in partnership with Klarna. Scheduled to launch on July 28, this program aims to offer customers greater flexibility in acquiring the latest Apple devices through manageable payment plans.
The Apple Upgrade program will feature a variety of leasing options: iPhones and Apple Watches will be available for 24-month leases, while iPads and Macs can be leased for up to 36 months. However, it's worth noting that certain models—including the Apple Watch SE, base iPad, iPhone 16, and MacBook Neo—will not be included in the program.
Customers will have the ability to pay off their leased devices early, upgrade to newer models, or retain the devices at the end of their lease term. Unlike the current iPhone Upgrade Program, the Apple Upgrade will not offer AppleCare protection, as Apple is reportedly planning to discontinue the iPhone Upgrade Program altogether upon the launch of this new initiative.
This move comes in light of Apple's recent price increases across its device lineup (except for iPhones) and is likely a strategic effort to encourage continued purchases from its loyal customer base.
