Samsung Launches Galaxy Card: A Compelling Competitor to Apple Card

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Card in the United States, designed to allow customers to earn cash rewards on eligible purchases.

The company has teamed up with Barclays US Consumer Bank and Visa to create the Galaxy Card, which will be offered as both a physical metal card featuring Samsung's distinct black logo and a virtual card option.

Applications for the Galaxy Card opened on July 22, with eligible customers able to apply either online or in-person at Samsung retail locations throughout the United States. New cardholders can take advantage of a $200 welcome bonus by spending $2,000 within the first 90 days of opening their accounts.

The Galaxy Card offers attractive cash back rates: 5% on Samsung purchases, 3% on transactions made via Samsung Wallet, 2% on eligible streaming services, and 1% on all other purchases.

Additionally, cardholders will benefit from a 20% discount on Samsung VIP Advantage and earn 5% cash back for purchasing or renewing a Samsung VIP Advantage membership.

This launch comes more than seven years after Apple introduced its own credit card, the Apple Card.
