Qualcomm is developing a new chipset identified by the model number SM4875, which is anticipated to be named Snapdragon 4 Gen 6. This chipset will succeed the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, launched in May.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 retains a configuration similar to its predecessor, featuring two Kryo Gold cores and six Kryo Silver cores. However, the leaked diagram below does not disclose the clock speeds.
The GPU for Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 has been upgraded to the Adreno 6 series, enhancing graphics performance significantly compared to the Adreno 4 series in the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. Additionally, the new System on Chip (SoC) will support dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM, with speeds of up to 3,200 MHz, surpassing the LPDDR4X support of the previous generation.
Regarding connectivity, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 will offer four chip options for OEMs: the WCN3998-2 with support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, the WCN3988 for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, the WCN6750 with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and the WCN6450 featuring Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6.0.
The exact release date for this chipset remains uncertain, and it may not be unveiled until next year. This makes the current leak quite early. We will provide further updates as they become available.
