The RedMagic Astra 2, originally launched in China as the "Gaming Tablet 5 Pro" in late June, is now available to users worldwide. The design and hardware remain consistent, providing global customers with the same experience as the Chinese market.

This tablet features a 9.06-inch LTPO OLED display with an impressive 185Hz refresh rate and quick touch response capabilities, boasting an average touch sampling rate of 300Hz.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, available in configurations of either 12GB/256GB or 16GB/512GB. The main chipset is supported by the dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip, which optimizes framerate stability and enhances gaming graphics.
Audio-wise, the tablet is equipped with dual stereo speakers and dual X-axis linear vibration motors, delivering what RedMagic refers to as 4D haptic feedback.

The camera setup is straightforward, featuring a 13MP rear camera and a 9MP front camera, which is typical for devices in this category.
Powering the tablet is an 8,300 mAh battery with support for 75W wired fast charging. Notably, the device includes two USB-C ports: one high-speed 3.2 Gen 2 connector and one USB 2.0 port, allowing for charging while playing games. The latter is conveniently located along the long side of the tablet, making it easier to plug in during landscape gameplay.

The Astra 2 utilizes Redmagic OS 11.5, which is based on Android 16.
Although today marks the official global launch of the tablet, sales will commence in late August. In the meantime, RedMagic is offering early bird vouchers to customers, granting one-day priority access to sales and an 80W charger as a bonus.
