Ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, a new report from the supply chain has unveiled the company's production plans for its upcoming Galaxy Z foldable smartphones.

The report, referencing industry sources, indicates that Samsung has set a higher production target for the wide-screen Galaxy Z Fold8 compared to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8.

Samsung to reportedly produce more Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide units than Fold8 Ultra and Flip8

According to the report, Samsung has instructed its suppliers to manufacture approximately 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold8. In contrast, the production target for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is around 2 million units, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 is projected to reach 1.5 million units.

This increased production goal suggests Samsung anticipates strong demand for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide. The device, rumored to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio, will compete with Apple's upcoming iPhone Ultra, expected to launch in September.

Rumored specifications include a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen, supplemented by a 4,800mAh battery and a dual-rear camera setup.
