
Redmi has recently introduced the Note 17 Pro alongside the Note 17 for the Chinese market. As is typical with many smartphones, accessing the inner components of the Redmi Note 17 Pro begins with removing the back cover, which is constructed from plastic. The interior of the back cover is lined with foam for added protection against water and dust.
Next to the cameras lies the NFC coil, while thermal management is handled by a film that connects the battery to the motherboard. The main camera features Samsung's ISOCELL JN5 1/2.76" sensor, and the front-facing camera utilizes the OmniVision OV08F 1/4" sensor.
The device is equipped with LPDDR4X RAM and Samsung-manufactured UFS 4.0 storage. However, due to limitations of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, the ROM operates at UFS 3.1 speeds at best. The Note 17 Pro contains a light sensor and an ultrasonic proximity sensor. Its USB port supports USB 2.0, and there are two microphones included to reduce costs.
Powering the device is a 9,000 mAh battery containing 13% silicon, produced by Sunwoda. It comes bundled with a 67W charger, with tests revealing a peak power draw of 54.7W. A full charge, from 1% to 100%, takes approximately 84 minutes. The device's brightness performance is notable, reaching a maximum of 863 nits in manual mode and 968 nits in sunlight mode. In high brightness mode, it can reach up to 1,100 nits, and under specific conditions, peak brightness has exceeded 3,500 nits at 10% coverage and 3,800 nits at 1% coverage.
Underneath the display is a stainless steel vapor chamber measuring 4,700 square millimeters. The outer frame of the device is plastic, while the inner frame is constructed from HZH5.9 alloy, achieving a 30% increase in rigidity compared to its predecessor.
