Recent leaks reveal that the Galaxy Z Fold8 (previously known as the Galaxy Z Fold Wide) and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which succeeds the Galaxy Z Fold7, will feature significantly larger batteries compared to their predecessors. Notably, there are reports that Samsung may finally implement Si/C battery technology. But how much will battery life improve?

EU's battery rating of the new Galaxy Fold8 series show a significant improvement in endurance

While the actual performance can only be confirmed through testing once the review units are available, the European Product Registry for Energy Labeling (EPREL) offers some insights into the expected endurance.

According to EPREL, the Galaxy Z Fold8 has an endurance rating of 49:10 hours, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra achieves an impressive 51:00 hours. These ratings stem from the devices being equipped with 4,800 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries, respectively.

In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra shows a notable improvement of around 20% over the Galaxy Z Fold7, which had a rating of 40:28 hours and a 4,400 mAh battery.

While individual experiences will vary based on usage patterns, it is evident that the new Galaxy Z Fold8 lineup is set to offer much larger batteries—a crucial upgrade for users.
