Lava Reschedules Launch of Virat V1 and V1 5G, Reveals Key Specifications

Lava recently partnered with Flipkart to launch its new Virat smartphone series. Initially scheduled for July 21, the launch has been postponed to July 24, during which Lava will introduce the Virat V1 and Virat V1 5G as the inaugural models in this series.

Alongside the announcement, Lava and Flipkart disclosed the specifications for both smartphones.

The Lava Virat V1 5G will be equipped with a Unisoc T8200 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It will run on Android 16 right out of the box without any ads or bloatware. This model features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a substantial 6,000 mAh battery.

On the back, the Virat V1 5G will have a dual-camera system led by a 13MP sensor, while the front will feature a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. Additionally, the device will have an IP64 rating and will be available in two colors: Arya Blue and Sonar Gold.

The Lava Virat V1 will be powered by Unisoc's SC9863A processor, alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Unlike the V1 5G, the V1 will come with Android 15 Go Edition, also free from ads and bloatware.

The screen size and resolution of the V1 will match that of the V1 5G; however, it remains unclear if this model will support a 120Hz refresh rate, as this information was not included in Lava's press materials or on Flipkart's promotional page.

The V1 will have a smaller battery capacity at 5,000 mAh but will retain the 13MP dual-camera setup and the 5MP selfie camera, along with an IP64 rating. Additionally, the V1 is expected to feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, although this has yet to be confirmed for the V1 5G. There's a possibility that Lava may integrate an in-display fingerprint scanner for the latter model.

The Virat V1 will come in two color variants: Nilgiri Blue and Himalayan Silver.

Both the Virat V1 and V1 5G will be available exclusively through Flipkart. Lava is also offering complimentary home service for customers purchasing either smartphone.

While Lava has yet to disclose the prices for these devices, they have previously stated that the Virat series smartphones will be priced below INR 25,000.
