MG has announced plans for an all-electric sporty hatchback named MG2, set to launch in the summer of 2027. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the company unveiled the MG GO!, a Mini-inspired sporty hatch concept that may serve as a foundation for this upcoming vehicle.
MG GO!
The MG GO! debuted alongside another concept, the MG Cyber, designed as a high-performance SUV. Both models represent MG's vision for the next generation of electric vehicles.
Designed at the MG Design Center in London, the MG GO! aims to blend classic styling with modern appeal. It incorporates design elements from iconic MG models such as the MGB GT and draws sporting inspiration from the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR, and MG EX4. This combination contributes to the MG GO!'s vibrant sporty character.
The primary objective for MG is to deliver an exhilarating driving experience while keeping the vehicle affordable and practical.
Unfortunately, no details about the interior have been revealed, so further insights will have to wait.
MG Cyber
In contrast, the MG Cyber concept is a spacious, high-end performance SUV, inspired by the historical MG EX181, known for setting speed records.
This model emphasizes exceptional driving dynamics and a sporty feel while ensuring practicality and range are not compromised.
Alongside these concepts, MG also highlighted its progress in key technologies such as AI, ADAS, LiDAR, advanced camera systems, and vehicle connectivity.
