A recent report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman indicates that Apple plans to launch an OLED iPad mini as early as this fall, with a release expected by October. While the new iPad mini will feature an OLED display, it will not include ProMotion technology, meaning it will maintain a 60Hz refresh rate. Consequently, the OLED iPad mini may be priced higher than the current model, which starts at $599 following Apple's recent price adjustments.

However, the standard entry-level iPad will likely continue using LCD panels for the time being to manage costs. The next generation of the base iPad is expected to arrive in the first quarter of next year, between January and March.
The primary upgrade will focus on the system-on-chip (SoC); no new design is anticipated. Depending on sources, the new iPad will be powered by either the A18 or A19 chip, coupled with 8GB of RAM—an improvement over the current model, which features the A16 chip and 6GB of RAM.
New iPad Air models are expected in the spring, although it remains uncertain whether they will include the rumored OLED screens. These models will likely be unveiled alongside new iPad Pro versions. Additionally, an updated Apple Pencil is projected for 2027, which may include a replaceable battery.
