Source: Date:

Huawei has introduced its latest Pura 90s smartphones: the Pura 90s Pro and the Pura 90s Pro Max. While both devices share many similarities, they cater to slightly different audiences. The Pro Max offers high-end features, while the 90s Pro provides a more compact design with minimal compromises. For an in-depth examination of the camera capabilities, you can check out our detailed hands-on review of the Pura 90s Pro Max.

The most significant distinction between the two models is their display size. The Pura 90s Pro features a 6.6-inch screen but retains all the essential characteristics. Like the Pro Max, the Pro's display is LTPO and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device is powered by the latest Kirin 9030S chipset, which we are eager to test, as it represents Huawei's cutting-edge technology. Furthermore, the Pura 90s Pro and Pro Max are the first Huawei smartphones to support 5G connectivity outside of China following recent sanctions against the company.

The camera system continues to be a standout feature. The unique camera bump includes a 50MP main sensor with a large 1/1.28" sensor, alongside a 50MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and a 12.5MP ultrawide camera. The Pro Max enhances this setup, offering a 200MP telephoto lens and a more advanced 40MP ultrawide camera.

A robust 6,000 mAh battery powers the device; however, European models come with a slightly smaller 5,500 mAh battery due to strict import regulations. Both batteries support fast charging at up to 66W wired and 50W wireless.

After a prolonged period of stagnation, the global versions of these devices now feature Huawei's EMUI based on Android 16, departing from the outdated Android 12.
