Spotify is launching a new feature today: an integrated AI chatbot that allows users to interact with Spotify both in the Home view and during playback. This feature is exclusively available on mobile devices.
Users can communicate through voice or text, enabling a conversational experience similar to other AI chatbots.
This feature allows you to deepen your connection with your favorite music, explore your listening history, and delve into podcasts and audiobooks. You can even request to discover new artists. Once a playlist begins, you can continuously refine it to match your preferences.
Moreover, users can save songs, add tracks to their queue, and follow artists simply by speaking or typing their requests. While listening, you can inquire about specific songs—such as their inspirations, genres, and release dates.
Spotify provides additional context, offers guidance to related artists and narratives, and facilitates exploration of the people and themes behind podcasts and audiobooks. Furthermore, it can answer questions about your personal music taste.
This feature is currently in beta in English for Premium users aged 18 and over in the US, Ireland, and Sweden, available on both iOS and Android. The duration of the beta phase and potential rollout to other markets remain unspecified.
