KDDI, a company specializing in IoT services and connected experiences for OEM partners, has established a partnership with BMW Group. This collaboration builds on KDDI's long-standing relationship with Verizon, which provides 5G and LTE connectivity. Consequently, Verizon has officially partnered with BMW Group and KDDI.

This new partnership will see Verizon provide its 5G Standalone Connected Vehicles services to BMW, ensuring that all new BMW vehicles manufactured for the US market will utilize Verizon's cellular network. Although the press release does not specify which new models will feature Verizon and KDDI's connected driving experience, we can speculate.
It is likely that the new Neue Klasse-based models, such as the recently released iX3 and iX5, will benefit from Verizon's high-speed and reliable 5G network.
Additionally, BMW's Mini brand was mentioned in the press release. Given that the Cooper Electric, Aceman, and Countryman are all models released in 2023 and 2024, we can expect to see KDDI and Verizon's connected vehicle services on newer models.
