Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra during an Unpacked event in London on July 22. A recent rumor from Ice Universe sheds light on the sacrifices made to achieve a virtually crease-free design for these new foldable devices.
To accomplish this, Samsung has completely redesigned the hinge mechanism for both models compared to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold7. This new hinge is characterized by a folding and unfolding action that is described as 'more decisive.'

This reflects the trade-off Samsung deemed necessary to achieve a crease comparable to that of the Oppo Find N6, and potentially the upcoming iPhone Ultra, although we will have to wait for further details.
While it remains unclear, it is presumed that using the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra at any angle may not be feasible, but perhaps only at select angles. If this is indeed the case, do you believe this trade-off is worth it in light of the crease-free experience? We encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments.
