Unboxing and First Impressions of the Oppo Enco Air5 Earbuds

Source: Date:

We have the Oppo Enco Air5 and Air5s in our office for an unboxing overview. Let's start with the Air5, which is an in-ear bud equipped with active noise cancellation. It is positioned just below the Air5 Pro, yet both models feature the same 12mm dynamic drivers and triple microphones.

The Air5 is available in two colors: Glossy White and Midnight Black, and it comes with three sets of silicone eartips.

Upon comparing the specifications of the new Enco Air5 with those of the outgoing Enco Air5 Pro, we observe minimal differences. The only notable feature exclusive to the Pro model is the support for LHDC 5.0. While the Air5 allows tap controls for play/pause and ANC activation, it lacks the slide control feature found on both the Enco Air5 Pro and the open-ear Enco Air5s.

The Air5 boasts the same 12mm dynamic driver, offering up to 54 hours of battery life from its 530mAh charging case (with an additional 62mAh per bud) and delivering 53dB of noise cancellation.

The Enco Air5 provides a comfortable fit in the ears. While not everyone prefers in-ear buds, I find them suitable. Unfortunately, the absence of sliding gesture controls on the Air5 is a drawback, especially as both the Enco Air5 Pro and Enco Air5s include this convenient feature.

This sliding control makes volume adjustments much easier, making it difficult to revert to tap-only controls after experiencing it.

The sound quality on the Air5 is impressive, delivering ample volume along with strong treble and mid-range tones. However, it lacks some depth straight out of the box. On the whole, the active noise cancellation function is reliable.

Key features include comfortable fit and tap controls.
