Source: Date:

Prime Day is just around the corner, running from June 23 to June 26. However, Amazon Germany has already commenced its early Prime Day promotions. A subscription is required to access these offers, but users can benefit from a free trial.

The deals feature a mixture of both older and newer smartphone models, with the latter typically being more advantageous. It's also often worthwhile to consider upgrading to a higher storage tier at a minimal cost.

We start with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and S25 Ultra. For those undecided, check out our detailed comparison. In summary, the 2026 Ultra introduces a Privacy Display, the latest Snapdragon flagship processor, and improved battery life complemented by faster charging. However, it does forgo the titanium frame found in the 2025 model.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 and S25 models present a more complex comparison. The Galaxy S26 features an Exynos 2600 as opposed to a Snapdragon, yet it manages to enhance battery life with an additional 300mAh capacity. The display also sees a slight increase to 6.3 inches, up from 6.2 inches. Unfortunately, the already outdated camera systems remains unchanged.

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ struggles in comparison to the S26 Ultra, although usually, there is a significant price differential. Currently, however, a 512GB S26+ is listed at the same price as the 512GB S25 Ultra. Despite being a year older, the S25 Ultra offers distinct advantages, particularly in its cameras, which on the S26+ have not seen an upgrade in nearly five years. The S26+ does showcase better battery endurance, but that's where the advantages end.

While the S25+ isn't included in the early Prime Day discounts, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is available. It features the Ultra’s 200MP 1/1.3" camera sensor but sacrifices the telephoto lens—a trade-off that may not be significant. The ultra-sleek design (5.8mm versus 7.3mm) and lightweight build (163g versus 190g) does result in a smaller battery (3,900mAh versus 4,900mAh), resulting in shorter endurance compared to the S26+.

The base model Poco F8 Ultra (12/256GB) is priced at €650, and the 16/512GB version remains below €700. This device is among the most affordable options featuring a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Additionally, it boasts a 6.9" 120Hz OLED display, backed by a substantial 6,500mAh battery (with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging). The camera array includes three 50MP sensors: a 1/1.31" main, a 5x/115mm periscope, and a 102° ultra-wide lens, along with a 32MP front-facing camera.

The Poco F8 Pro is available around the €500 mark, varying slightly based on memory options. It is equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite (previous generation) processor and a 6,210mAh battery (limited to 100W wired charging). While its camera setup doesn’t quite match the Ultra's, it remains competitive compared to other Galaxy S+ models, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP 2.5x/60mm telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For a comparative analysis, check out our detailed Poco F8 Pro vs. Poco F8 Ultra comparison.

The Poco X8 Pro Max features a near-flagship Dimensity 9500s chipset and boasts a sizable 6.83" 120Hz OLED display priced at €410-€450. It comes with an impressive 8,500mAh battery, nearly topping our battery chart—second only to the Realme P4 Power, which packs a 10,001mAh battery. The Pro Max supports 100W fast charging and is compatible with PPS along with HyperCharge adapters.

Poco X8 Pro Max

The Poco X8 Pro offers a more compact design with a 6.59" 120Hz OLED display and a 6,500mAh battery that performs well but doesn’t quite match the leaders in endurance. This model houses a Dimensity 8500 chip that exceeds expectations, and although both models share the same camera setup—a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide—the X8 Pro actually provides a better camera experience than its specifications may suggest. The Motorola Edge 70 is currently available at a 50% discount, costing around the same as the Poco X8 Pro Max. It features a slim and lightweight profile (6.0mm, 159g vs. 8.2mm, 218g) and while its 4,800mAh battery should offer decent endurance, it disappoints as it barely outlasts the S25 Edge. This model is equipped with a 6.7" 120Hz OLED display and powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The rear includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP 120° ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP front-facing camera.

For completeness, we also include information on the Samsung Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. Here’s how they compare against each other. While it may not be crucial, the A57 enjoys a more substantial discount and is effectively the same price as the A37, despite being a superior device with a thinner and lighter metal body (6.9mm, 179g versus 7.4mm, 196g) and a faster chip (Exynos 1680 versus 1480). Both phones are equipped with 5,000mAh batteries, sharing similar endurance and 45W wired charging capabilities.

However, unless a Samsung phone is a must-have, it's worth considering other powerful models available around the €400 price range, as previously mentioned.
