Source: Date:

Last November, YouTube began testing a direct messaging feature that allows users to converse within its mobile app, initially limited to Ireland and Poland. After a rollout in select European countries in March, the feature is now available in additional markets, including the US, UK, Brazil, and Singapore. This in-app messaging feature enables users to share videos, including long-form content, Shorts, and live streams. To access this video sharing and messaging function, users must be at least 18 years old, signed in to their YouTube account, and have the latest version of the YouTube app installed on their device. The feature is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

Additionally, users can unsend messages by long-pressing on them and selecting 'Unsend.' Conversations can be deleted from the user's end, and users have the option to block others. For more information on using YouTube's in-app video sharing and messaging feature, follow this link.
