Exciting Update: iOS 27 Unveils Innovative Bill-Splitting Feature for Users

Apple is set to introduce a convenient new feature in iOS 27 that will transform the way groups settle restaurant bills. Gone are the days of tedious calculations and confusion about who owes what, as this feature promises to simplify the process of splitting costs among friends and family.

The upcoming iOS 27 will include an intuitive bill-splitting tool accessible through the Wallet and Messages apps. Users will be able to take a photo of their restaurant receipt, and the feature will intelligently allocate costs to each individual based on what they ordered. Insiders have revealed that this exciting announcement will be made at WWDC 2026, which takes place next Monday.

This innovative tool will automatically calculate each person's share of the bill, accounting for food, tax, and tip. This ensures that everyone pays their fair share without any disagreements or misunderstandings.

For those using an Apple Watch, this feature will allow users to receive, view, and approve payment requests directly from their wrist, making it more convenient to handle group expenses on-the-go. Additionally, Apple Cash, which acts as a digital debit card, will facilitate these payments. Users can send and receive money via iMessage and use their balance at any location that accepts Apple Pay.

Besides the bill-splitting feature, iOS 27 will bring further enhancements to the Wallet app, including the ability to create custom digital passes for accessing gyms, events, or other restricted venues.

The first developer beta version of iOS 27 is expected to be released immediately following the WWDC keynote on June 8. The stable version will roll out in September, coinciding with the new iPhone lineup, which may include the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and possibly the iPhone Ultra.
