Oppo's ColorOS 17 to Incorporate Design Elements Inspired by Apple's Liquid Glass

Source: Date:

Oppo's upcoming Android skin, ColorOS 17, is expected to be based on Android 17 and will be unveiled in the coming months. Recent rumors from China suggest that this version will draw significant inspiration from Apple's Liquid Glass design, which debuted with iOS 16 last year.

While detailed information is scarce, sources indicate that Oppo's approach will feature 'liquid acrylic' rather than true 'liquid glass.' This adaptation boasts 'relatively weak refraction' in the UI elements, allowing for lower power consumption and improved readability.

However, this means that the visual impact of Oppo's UI may not be as striking as Apple's. Nevertheless, its design will still be recognizable as inspired by Liquid Glass. ColorOS 17 is also expected to feature more harmoniously rounded corners across the interface, real-time lighting effects in notification pop-ups, a Dynamic Island-like feature, and enhancements while music is playing.

We are eager to learn more about Oppo's design choices for ColorOS 17. With the imminent release of Android 17 from Google, Oppo may start teasing ColorOS 17 soon, so stay tuned for updates.
