XPeng Launches P7+ Deliveries in France, Expanding European Market Presence

Chinese automobile manufacturer XPeng has officially commenced deliveries of its P7+ liftback model in France. The event took place at the company's flagship showroom in Paris, where XPeng Vice Chairman and President Brian Gu personally handed over the keys to the first retail customer in the country.

This expansion into France is a crucial strategic move for the brand. To navigate complex import regulations, XPeng produces the European versions of the P7+ at the Magna Steyr manufacturing facility in Graz, Austria, where initial production trials concluded in January 2026. This localized manufacturing strategy creates a distinct logistical framework compared to its China-built counterparts.

French customers can select from three trim levels of the XPeng P7+, boasting impressive exterior dimensions—5,071 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,512 mm in height. The pricing reflects its premium position in the European market, beginning notably higher than the domestic models available in China.

The base model, known as the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Standard Range, is priced at €45,990. It features a single rear-mounted electric motor generating 180 kW (241 horsepower) powered by a 61.7 kWh battery. This variant offers a driving range of 455 km according to the European WLTP testing cycle and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

For those requiring more distance between charges, the RWD Long Range version is available at €49,990. This mid-tier model features a more powerful 230 kW (308 horsepower) rear motor and a larger 74.9 kWh battery, which boosts the official WLTP driving range to 530 km and improves the 0-100 km/h acceleration time to 6.2 seconds.

The top-tier option for European drivers is the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Performance version, priced at €53,990. It uses the same 74.9 kWh battery pack but combines it with dual motors for a total output of 370 kW (496 horsepower). This version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, but the increased weight and power consumption result in a slightly reduced range of 500 km. Notably, the AWD variant is exclusive to the European market, as XPeng does not offer it in mainland China.

The disparity in pricing between regions underscores the challenges of operating in Europe. In its home market, the battery electric version (B) of the XPeng P7+ retails between RMB 186,800 and RMB 208,800, which is approximately €23,580 to €26,355. Additionally, Chinese consumers have access to an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (ER) configuration that is not part of the initial European lineup.

This expansion into Europe comes at a pivotal time for XPeng. Recent data indicates that the company delivered 12,758 units of the P7+ liftback in China during the first four months of 2026, reflecting a steady year-over-year decline in domestic sales since November 2025. However, production levels remain high, with the company celebrating a significant milestone in January 2026 when the 100,000th P7+ was produced in China.

The introduction of European deliveries presents XPeng with a new opportunity for growth. During the Paris event, President Brian Gu mentioned that the company achieved record overall monthly sales in May 2026. The question remains whether European consumers will embrace the premium-priced Austrian liftback sufficiently to counter the model’s declining trajectory in China.
