Google's recently announced Fitbit Air fitness tracker, priced at $99, is now available for purchase. In an exciting development for DIY enthusiasts, Google has released official design guidelines for the Fitbit Air. These guidelines include the tracker's precise dimensions, tolerance margins, and 2D CAD files in PDF format, enabling users to 3D print custom bands and accessories.

The design guidelines provide detailed mating dimensions, tolerances, and specifications for both attach and detach force. The Fitbit Air consists of two primary components: the 'pebble,' which houses the sensors, batteries, and essential electronics, and the 'sleeve,' which encloses the pebble and connects to the bands.

According to Google's guidelines, all bands and accessories must ensure proper sensor clearance for the heart rate and SpO2 sensors to remain unobstructed. Additionally, Google advises maintaining consistent skin contact between the tracker and selecting skin-friendly materials for the bands.
