Recently, Microsoft revealed the Surface Laptop 8 (available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch models) and the Surface Pro, both equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips. The company is now reportedly focusing on Windows on ARM with the upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra, powered by the impressive Nvidia RTX Spark chipset. However, there's new information suggesting that Microsoft has Snapdragon-based devices in development, including the Microsoft Surface Pro 13.
The Surface Pro 13 will incorporate the Snapdragon X2 Elite, featuring 12 Prime “Oryon” cores. It will come standard with 32GB of soldered RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD. Buyers will have the option to configure storage with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, and the SSD can be replaced later on.

This tablet will boast a 13-inch OLED display and will support the optional Surface Slim Pen. Additionally, an optional Surface Pro 13 Flex Keyboard will be available, allowing users to operate it in laptop mode (when attached to the tablet) or wirelessly.
The Display Will Support a Stylus and a Detachable Keyboard
The Surface Pro 13 will include two USB-C 4.0 ports, facilitating charging, data transfer, and video output. Its Hexagon NPU promises 80 TOPS of compute power (INT8), enabling a variety of on-device AI applications. Given that this device runs on ARM architecture, it will also feature x86 emulation for software that does not support both platforms.
USB-C 4.0 Ports Will Handle Power, Data, and Video Output
Although the battery capacity has yet to be disclosed, the tablet is expected to offer up to 15.5 hours of video playback. It will be available in three colors: Black, Platinum, and Dune, with keyboards covered in Alcantara to match.
Up to 15.5 Hours of Battery Life and Support for ARM and x86 Software
It is important to note that this information comes from leaks, and the official specifications are anticipated to be unveiled on June 16. We may also see variants utilizing lower-powered chips like the Snapdragon X2 Plus; only time will tell.
