Today, Apple announced a new update for iOS, version 26.5.1, which, as suggested by the minor increment, is not a substantial release. Its primary objective is to address a specific bug that some users have encountered. This bug can prevent wired charging on the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 models when the battery is nearly depleted, according to the official changelog.
Given that charging is most crucial when the battery is low, it is reassuring to see this issue being resolved. Apple indicates that only a limited number of users were affected.

Additionally, macOS 26.5.1 has been released to rectify a problem for enterprise users involving Macs equipped with the M5 chip. These machines could unexpectedly shut down while utilizing certain content filtering network extensions.
Looking ahead, Apple is set to unveil iOS 27 and macOS 27 on June 8, with both updates anticipated to be available in the fall, likely in September.
