Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro Launch with Exciting Tablet Bundles

Source: Date:

This week, Xiaomi launched the 17T series, which includes two new smartphones priced €100 higher than their 15T predecessors. However, they come with significant upgrades.

The Xiaomi 17T now boasts a 50MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom, enhancing its capabilities with features like 30cm macro shots and 10x lossless zoom. This is a notable improvement from the previous 2x lens. The camera setup also includes a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera.

In terms of size, the 17T is slightly smaller than the 15T, featuring a 6.59” 12-bit 120Hz OLED display. Thanks to Silicon-Carbon technology, the battery capacity has increased to 6,500mAh, which is 1,000mAh more than the 15T. The device supports 67W charging with a HyperCharge adapter and 50W with a USB PPS adapter. Additionally, reverse charging allows you to power other devices at up to 22.5W. The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a larger 6.83” display with a 12-bit OLED panel and an even faster 144Hz refresh rate. It houses a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging (HyperCharge and PPS) and 50W wireless charging.

This model retains the same 50MP 5x periscope camera from the 17T but upgrades the main sensor to a larger 1/1.31” size, providing improved light capture. The Pro variant also utilizes the flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset in contrast to the Dimensity 8500 in the standard 17T. As previously noted, the 17T series is priced €100 higher than last year's 15T. Since both devices were recently launched, there are currently no discounts available.

That said, Xiaomi has introduced a bundle offer that includes either phone with a tablet of your choice, such as the budget-friendly Redmi Pad 2 (9.7”) or the premium Xiaomi Pad 8.

The Redmi Pad features a 9.7” 120Hz IPS LCD, powered by a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. Though it has limited RAM at 4GB, it does offer expandable storage via microSD with 64GB built-in. The device is fueled by a 7,600mAh battery supporting 18W charging. Typically priced at €200, it's available for just €100 with the bundle offer.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 comes with an impressive 11.2” 144Hz IPS LCD and a powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. It provides more RAM and storage; however, it does not include a microSD slot. The tablet is equipped with a 9,200mAh battery supporting 45W charging and 22.5W reverse charging. Typically priced at €450 (with a current €30 discount on mi.com), the bundle offer reduces the price to €300.

Note that the Xiaomi 17 Max and 17 Pro Max are not available in Europe. This leaves the more compact Xiaomi 17 and the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra as alternatives to the 17T series. If you're considering options outside of these models, take a look at the Poco F8 Ultra.

This option is more affordable than the standard 17T, while offering a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset that rivals the Mediatek chip in the 17T Pro. Additionally, it features the same 1/1.31” Light Fusion 950 sensor as the Pro model, along with a 50MP periscope camera and a superior 50MP ultra-wide camera, compared to the 12MP in the 17T models. The screen also measures 6.9” at 12-bit 120Hz OLED, though the battery capacity is slightly less at 6,500mAh, supporting both 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
