The highlight of the newly announced Oura Ring 5 is its compact size. Measuring just over 6mm in width and 2.3mm in thickness, it is 40% smaller than its predecessor, the Ring 4. Crafted from titanium, the new model features a smoother curvature for added comfort and is available in sizes 6-13 with an IP68 ingress protection rating.
The Oura Ring 5 incorporates updated sensors with enhanced LEDs, ensuring improved readings and signal quality. Notably, Oura claims to have achieved better consistency in measurements across different skin tones and finger types. In addition to standard health metrics such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep, and stress monitoring, the new model introduces a “Health Radar system.” This feature continuously monitors key biometrics and detects changes and patterns in health.

Another significant addition is the capability for blood pressure signal monitoring during sleep, alongside nighttime breathing reports. These features will be available to Oura app members in the United States, India, and the United Arab Emirates starting in June. Users in these regions will also have access to GLP-1 insights for medication and weight management.
Oura Ring 5 Health and Activity Tracking
When it comes to activity tracking, the Oura Ring 5 now supports over 50 health metrics, including heart rate data, pace, and distance for activities such as running, cycling, and strength training. Users will still need to initiate their workout tracking through the app. As with previous models, a subscription to Oura membership ($5.99/month or $69.99/year) is required to access all features.
The battery life of the Oura Ring 5 is rated between 6 to 9 days, depending on usage, with a charging time of up to 80 minutes. Additionally, Oura has introduced a new $99 charging case, sold separately, which supports wireless charging and provides up to one month of battery life to recharge the Ring 5 on the go.
The Oura Ring 5 is offered in two pricing tiers based on material finish. The base Silver and Black versions start at $399/€429, while premium options in Gold, Stealth, and Brushed Silver retail at $499/€529. The Oura Ring 5 is available for purchase through Oura's online store and partnering retailers such as Amazon.
