Samsung's One UI 9 Enhances Call Log with Features Inspired by iPhone

In the competitive landscape of mobile operating systems, companies often look to each other for inspiration. Samsung is no exception, as it brings new features to its One UI 9 that resonate with iOS capabilities. One notable addition is the revamped call log system, which integrates third-party communication apps, making it easier for users to keep track of all their calls in one place.

Personalize Your Preferences

The One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces a feature that links calls from WhatsApp and Google Meet directly into your Samsung Phone app. While Telegram is currently not supported, future updates might expand compatibility to include it.

The new mixed call log feature is automatically enabled, allowing users to see calls from their favorite apps in one simple list. For those who prefer a more traditional approach, you can easily customize or disable this feature by following these steps:
  1. Tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner of the Samsung Phone app
  2. Select Settings
  3. Scroll down to Other call settings > Other calling apps
  4. Choose which third-party app calls you want to appear in your default call history

Enhancements Beyond Calls

As Samsung continues to refine its user interface, improvements may be made to other features in One UI 9, seeking to align with modern user expectations and preferences.

Availability and Future Rollouts

The upcoming release of One UI 9 is anticipated alongside Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 devices, likely launching by late July. Users with earlier Galaxy models may need to wait a little longer for the update.
